Parks & Recreation

The Gwinner Park Board is responsible for the care and maintenance of our city parks. There are 3 public parks, the North Sargent Community Pool, and a roadside picnic area that we currently maintain. Our thanks to the volunteers and organizations that help us with mowing, cleanup, and various projects. This is a community-wide effort to make our city more beautiful and enjoyable for all ages.

Main City Park

Located at 104 1st Ave SE. This is a beautiful area with 2 play-systems, full basketball court, swimming pool, 2 picnic shelters, concession stand, ball diamond, and 2 sand volleyball courts.

Maplewood Park

Located in the northeast portion of Gwinner, in Maplewood Drive. This is the site of Gwinner's tennis court. Watch this area for future renovations! This park also has a new play system, full basketball court, swing set (with infant seat), teeter-totters.

Wright Park

Located in the Northwest side of Gwinner. The Springs Golf Course is just 2 blocks away. This park was named in honor of Marjorie Wright, who tended to this park since it was built and took great pride in making sure it looked it's best. Recent additions have included a new picnic shelter, basketball court and a new playground set!

There are several picnic shelters available for use in Gwinner. The Main City Park has the largest shelter with aluminum picnic tables. Nearby is a quaint gazebo shelter. These shelters are near the concession building with restroom, kitchen facilities and have power outlets installed.

Wright Park and Maplewood Park both have picnic shelters.
